Based in Whitchurch-Stouffville, our mission is to create a safer, more focused, and resilient community by empowering both youth and adults through structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training.
Our instructors lead with professionalism, care, and purpose. Every class is designed not only to teach technical skill, but to instill discipline, confidence, and respect—qualities that extend far beyond the training environment.

Sales & Operations Lead (in training)

SCHEDULE
-
This role will begin part-time (approximately 3 days per week) with the goal of growing into a full-time leadership position as the academy continues to expand.
Typical shifts will rotate depending on the day of the week:
• 1:15 PM – 9:15 PM
• 12:15 PM – 8:15 PMThese hours align with our class schedule and busiest operational periods.
Schedule and hours may evolve based on program growth, business needs, and the candidate’s performance and availability. We aim to provide consistency wherever possible while maintaining flexibility to support the needs of the academy.
ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll receive hands-on training and mentorship, with opportunities to gradually take on greater ownership of sales, operations, leadership, and day-to-day responsibilities as you develop within the role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
-
Sales & Member Experience
• Follow up with warm leads and schedule trial appointments
• Follow up with trial attendees and help guide prospective members through the decision-making process
• Build relationships with prospective and current members
• Assist with membership conversations and onboarding
• Deliver a high-level customer experience for members and families -
Leadership & Operations
• Support day-to-day operations and help keep things running smoothly
• Help identify areas for improvement and contribute ideas
• Learn and refine systems and processes
• Assist with SOP creation and process improvements
• Take increasing ownership over operational responsibilities over time -
Marketing & Communication Support
• Help organize photos, videos, and content assets for marketing initiatives
• Assist with communications and special projects as needed
Event & Team Support
• Support events, promotions, and community initiatives
• Assist with team coverage and special projects as needed

Experience in sales, hospitality, customer service, membership sales, recruiting, fitness, leadership, or similar customer-facing roles is strongly preferred.
WHAT WE OFFER

• Starting compensation begins at Ontario minimum wage during the initial training/probation period, with structured opportunities for performance-based growth in compensation, responsibilities, and hours over time
Progression through training periods and roles, including increases in compensation and hours, is based on performance, reliability, and demonstrated readiness for increased responsibility.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor
SCHEDULE

• Class times vary by program (Tots, Kids, Youth, Teens, Adults)
• Schedule is based on business needs and student demand, and may evolve over time
• Additional hours available for private lessons, events, and seminars based on performance
ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor at FLO Martial Arts Stouffville, you play a key role in shaping the student experience on the mats.
This is more than teaching techniques — it’s about building confident, disciplined, and resilient individuals in a structured, high-quality training environment.
You’ll be responsible for delivering engaging, safe, and well-organized classes that align with our curriculum, while creating an atmosphere where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to improve.
Our instructors are leaders in the academy — setting the tone for professionalism, culture, and the standard of excellence our members expect.

Class Assistant Trainee
Learn the structure of our classes while supporting instructors and developing foundational coaching skills. -
Class Assistant
Support class delivery, manage small groups, and contribute to a structured, positive training environment. -
Lead Instructor Trainee
Begin leading portions of class and progress toward running full classes with confidence and consistency. -
Lead Instructor
Take full ownership of class delivery, student experience, and overall class performance. -
Senior Instructor / Leadership Role
Lead instructors, oversee class quality, support curriculum execution, and contribute to the academy’s growth and culture. -

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for assigned age groups
• Deliver curriculum in a clear, engaging, and organized way
• Ensure a safe training environment for all students
• Manage class flow, partner pairings, and student engagement
• Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback
• Build positive relationships with students and parents
• Support student progress through attendance, encouragement, and accountability
• Assist with gradings, events, and academy initiatives
• Maintain professionalism on and off the mats
• Uphold academy standards, policies, and culture

Qualifications:• Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience (minimum rank requirements based on program taught)
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Previous coaching or teaching experience is an asset
• Experience working with children is an asset for youth programs
WHAT WE OFFER

Competitive hourly pay with clear progression:
• Class Assistant Trainee: Ontario minimum wage
• Class Assistant: $18–$22/hour
• Lead Instructor Trainee: $20–$26/hour
• Lead Instructor: $25–$40/hour
• Senior Instructor / Leadership: $35–$60+/hour
